Again this week my savings were below 50%, might have something to do with the fact the hubby kept adding things into the trolley without asking if I had a coupon for it... he knows better than that!!

Cajun Pepper Steak
The hubby loves chinese pepper steak and we eat it often, so when I found this recipe for cajun pepper steak I thought he would really enjoy it. He liked it, but I think he prefers the chinese version, he gave me that impression when he poured sweet and sour sauce all over his!
1-1/2 pounds boneless beef top round, cubed
2 tbsp butter
2 medium onions, sliced
2 green peppers, julienned
1 red pepper, julienned
1 celery rib, sliced
1-1/2 cups water
4 tsp worcester sauce
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp cajun seasoning
1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce
2 tbsp corn starch
In large skillet brown beef in butter over medium heat, drain. Stir in the onions, peppers and celery, cook for 2 minutes.
Add the water, worcester sauce, chili powder, soy sauce, cajun seasoning and pepper sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer dor 1 hour or until meat is tender.
Combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth, stir into meat mixture. Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with rice.

Birthday Treats
It was my 31st birthday last week and DH surprised me with lots of treats, my favourite was the yummy fruit bouquet from Edible Arrangements. I have been wanting one of those for a long time, and those chocolate bananas were so good!
He also gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers, took me out to dinner and then surprised me with some yummy little macarons. I have to admit to being slightly obsessed with them, so it was a great end to my birthday. Thanks so much honey!
