Cajun Pepper Steak

The hubby loves chinese pepper steak and we eat it often, so when I found this recipe for cajun pepper steak I thought he would really enjoy it. He liked it, but I think he prefers the chinese version, he gave me that impression when he poured sweet and sour sauce all over his!

1-1/2 pounds boneless beef top round, cubed
2 tbsp butter
2 medium onions, sliced
2 green peppers, julienned
1 red pepper, julienned
1 celery rib, sliced
1-1/2 cups water
4 tsp worcester sauce
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp cajun seasoning
1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce
2 tbsp corn starch

In large skillet brown beef in butter over medium heat, drain. Stir in the onions, peppers and celery, cook for 2 minutes.

Add the water, worcester sauce, chili powder, soy sauce, cajun seasoning and pepper sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer dor 1 hour or until meat is tender.

Combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth, stir into meat mixture. Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with rice.
